New Zealand are Women's 60+ World Champions

The New Zealand Women’s 60+ Grand Masters team are now the proud holders of the Sue Catton Trophy after defeating the current European champions England 1-0 in the final of the Grand Masters Hockey World Cup in Canberra, 29th March - 6th April. Playing a high intensity game using a system of play very similar to that of their Black Sticks counterparts, the NZ team remained unbeaten throughout the tournament. The six teams that competed in this grade, New Zealand, England, Australia, Wattles, LX Lionesses and Alliance generated an exciting and competitive 10 days of hockey, epitomising what this tournament is about. Their continuing commitment to the game, physical fitness and camaraderie on and off the field were an exemplar to all their younger counterparts. The final standings in the Womens’s O60 division of the Grand Masters Hockey World Cup, were:
