The Last WGMA Tournament

Asian Cup in Donghae, Korea

The 5th Grand Masters Hockey Asian Cup starts on 17th October at the Sunrise Hockey Stadium, Donghae, Korea. Since it was founded in 2002 in at a World Cup tournament in Kuala Lumpur, WGMA has been responsible for the massive growth in Grand Masters hockey and has helped to stimulate interest in Masters hockey at all age levels from O35 upwards. From 2020 World Masters Hockey (WMH) will take over as the body recognised by FIH for the control of all Masters hockey from Over 35 to Over 75.

WGMA is delighted that Donghae will host this final event as Korea has been one of the regular contestants in the Asian Cup since it was first staged in Singapore in 2011. This tournament also marks a major milestone in that an 65+ Asian Championship will be contested for the first time - between Korea, Japan and Malaysia.

Grand Masters hockey continues to grow and the Korean Hockey Association will give all those at Donghae a tournament to remember which will provide a fitting farewell to WGMA.
