A successful 4th Grand Masters Hockey Asian Cup in Hiroshima, Japan finished with a closing ceremony in warm sunshine.

Japan regained the title of Asian champions with a final 5-2 win over their nearest rivals and 2015 winners Malaysia with Singapore taking the bronze medal ahead of Hong Kong and Korea, who will host the 5th Grand Masters Asian Cup in 2019.

For the first time there was a Tournament Trophy competition with international opposition for the Japan 65+ national team. Visitors LX Club from England beat Japan 65+ 2-0 in the final to take gold while international club Alliance HC beat Southern Cross (Australia) in a shuttle shoot-out to take bronze.
