European Trophy 2012 - Invitation and Advance Information
WGMA would like to invite all interested 60 plus veterans teams to participate in the 2nd GRAND MASTERS EUROPEAN TROPHY tournament to be held at Bra, Italy from 6th - 10th June 2012. The Bra organising committee will be responsible for managing the event and liaising with team managers. Training, umpires and team managers meetings and the Welcome party will be on 6th June and the first matches will start the following day.
All teams wishing to have time allocated to them for training on the afternoon of 6th June should make travel arrangments that ensure that they are in Bra by midday that day. Those involved in umpires and team managers meetings should be at the ground no later than 4pm. If players/teams wish to arrive on Tuesday 5th June, the pitches will be available for training and the clubhouse will be open on Tuesday and on Wednesday morning. The Grand Masters European Trophy Pools will be organised as follows:
Over 60
Tournament for men aged sixty years or over (born 1952 or earlier – teams may include up to five players over 57 but under 60 i.e. born in 1953, 1954 or 1955).
Over 65
Tournament for men aged 65 years or over( born in 1947 or earlier).
Over 70
Tournament for men aged 70 years or over (born in 1942 or earlier).
Please Note
In the Over 60 category teams will be allowed up to five players born in 1953, 1954 or 1955 in their squad, no more than three of whom may be on the field at any one time. This has been introduced so that some younger players can experience Grand Masters hockey before they qualify for their national squads and also to allow members who have difficulty in raising a full team at Over 60 the opportunity to compete with other WGMA members.
This tournament will be staged under the authority of WGMA and the matches and competitions will be played in accordance with the currently approved WGMA
Regulations (Issue 3, 23rd July 2011). Please send your completed Registration form(s) by 31st October 2011 at the latest to:
Adrian Stephenson – stephenson@lennardqap.co.uk
with a copy to:

The Registration Fee will be 600 Euro per team, payable into an account presented in due time by the organisation committee treasurer.
